    One of the earliest known styles of blues, this style originated in the Mississippi Delta and is known for its use of slide guitar and harmonica.

    This dance music style is based on the same chord progression as blues, but is more straightforward and less subtle than standard blues.

  • Piedmont Blues

    This style originated in the southeastern United States and combines elements of blues, ragtime, jazz, and old-time music. 

 

  • Texas Blues

    This hard-driving swing style blues uses repetitive riffs and has more swing than the Chicago style.

  • Jump Blues

    This style is a mix of several blues styles, along with swing and jazz elements.

  • Electric Blues

    This style is characterized by the amplification of the guitar, bass guitar, harmonica, and other instruments.
